I immigrated to the US from Bangladesh as a toddler with my family. After living in NYC for several years, we moved to the DC Metro area to be closer to extended family. Growing up in NYC and Maryland provided me with a close-knit Bangladeshi community where I was able to regularly participate in various cultural events and maintain ties to my Bangladeshi roots. I am currently a social worker in the Philly and hold a dual master’s degree in Social Service and Law and Social Policy.
